| Tanya Bendaw, a breast cancer patient, was evicted from her apartment. DALLAS (CBS 11 / TXA 21) Reporting: Nerissa Knight, KTVT / KTXA |
A Dallas woman knows this firsthand. Tanya Bendaw is a stage three breast cancer patient. "I've had three surgeries," she said, "and I have another surgery coming up." She's also undergoing radiation treatment for her cancer.
Bendaw, who's 39, is unable to work because of the cancer. Until Wednesday, she lived at the Holly Park apartment complex on Military Parkway in southeast Dallas. But the apartment complex's management evicted her at 9 a.m.
"I was asleep this morning and they just started bamming on the door and stuff and they said get out, and they just started setting my stuff out," she said. "Then he told me once everything is out, I'm on my own."
